Heritage began in 1985 as a small independent bathroom shop in Bristol that had big ideas to grow, and that’s exactly what has happened. After a Cheltenham-based sanitaryware manufacturer went into liquidation in 1989, the company founders, who had already begun some localised sub-distribution, acquired the Heritage name and the moulds to some traditional-style basins & WCs, and thus Heritage Bathrooms was born.
Moving from strength to strength the company grew the distribution arm of the business and also embarked on own manufacturing, acquiring and setting up two ceramic, one acrylic bath and a furniture factory in a short space of time. The remainder of the portfolio of products in the Heritage range are mostly manufactured for Heritage in the UK with just a small amount of European imports.
The company's success success is such that in 1998 one of the worlds largest manufacturers of brand-name consumer products for home and family, Masco Corporation, acquires the business and Heritage becomes part of the plumbing platform for the multi-billion dollar corporation, alongside other leading brands such as Delta Faucet, Damixa, Bristan, Hansgrohe and Gummers.
